World's Best carries the distinction of being the absolute best shop for manga and anime on the Peninsula, and possibly in all of Hampton Roads, for what it's worth. The store also supports a large gaming contingent. In my own opinion, sometimes this overshadows the comics portion of the store, hurting the its attractiveness to possible new readers. The place, at times, gives off the impression of a boy's club. The employees, while marginally friendly, can be dismissive at times. However, the comic section of the store carries the absolute largest selection of trade paperbacks on the Peninsula. Many small press and MANY Vertigo books are among those available for purchase, displayed face-first on both a wall and another long bookshelf. Excellent selection, ambivalent atmosphere, adequate service. This store has the potential to be a great comic store, if it can just balance its elements.
