Dewayne's World is part of a vanishing breed...a comic/game store with heart, where customer satisfaction really does come first! One of the unique qualities of this store is that it has one employee...owner Dewayne Chase. This constant one-on-one interaction with his customers keeps Dewayne "plugged in", to his clients' needs and wants.

Dewayne's World has a 50-50 mix of comics and games. Extensive back issues are available, and Dewayne is always ready to special order for his clients. Although the gaming area is small, the gaming is eclectic, from Necromunda to Zombies: the boardgame, from Settlers of Catan to Magic: the Gathering. The Games Workshop assortment is extensive, and the fantasy and simulation boardgame market is well served. Dewayne has an abundant assortment of miniature painting and customization supplies.

One of my favorite assets of this store is Dewayne himself. Once he gets to know a customer, he is constantly on the lookout for new and intriguing items that the customer might also enjoy. This is distinct from the typical "I threw these in for you" trick at some comic stores, but is a genuine attempt to find things each customer will enjoy. One never feels obligated to actually buy these chosen items, which is nice, but the customer that ignores Dewayne's suggestions is generally missing out on something great. Dewayne has the unique ability to talk to everyone, kids and adults alike and make them feel welcome. I have watched him talk to 10 year olds in such a way that they universally walk away feeling that at least one adult doesn't look down on them! This is a brilliant strategy, as these kids will someday have jobs, money, and will be buying comics and games, and will surely return to the place where they weren't treated like chattel (other comic and game shop owners take notice!)

If you can't tell, I am a big fan of Dewayne's world. Many of my best gaming experiences have occured within those four walls, and I can't recommend it more highly.
