If you're looking for new comics or very recent back issues (less than 5 years old) this store has got plenty to choose from. Their selection of new comics is top-notch, with pretty much any title you can think of from both big and small publishers. I found a couple of more obscure titles there that my regular store doesn't carry. The selection of trade paperbacks is awesome as well. If they don't have it, it's probably not out yet. The back issues left me kind of disappointed though. I regularly visit comic stores in areas where I'm traveling hoping to find older back issues from the 70s and 80s to fill gaps in my collection. If older back issues are all you're looking for, this is not the place to look. I couldn't really find anything in the back issue boxes published before 2000. There might've been some in there somewhere, but I didn't see them. Most were just multiple unsold copies of very recent issues. Technically, these are back issues, but just not what I expected when I read that the store sold back issues. Other than that minor annoyance, which probably won't bother most people, the store is really very nice. It's not cluttered at all, and it's very easy to find what you're looking for. The store itself is a bit difficult to find though. There is not a large sign out front that says "Corsair Comics" or anything. It's inside the Palmetto Studios building and you have to know that it's there to find it. Only a couple of really small signs on the store windows identify it as a comic book store, so people passing by on the street looking for it can very easily overlook it. Just look for Palmetto Studios, though, and you'll find it. All in all, this is a good store with a great selection of new comics and trade paperbacks and worth checking out if you're in the Myrtle Beach area. [10/23/08]
