- This is a great shop I have been visiting for a few years now. The sad news is that the store fell victim to fire about 2 months ago. They are now operating out of a borrowed store front on Wed and Thurs from 12-6 to get new books to us die hard fans. They also have some back issues for sale that were donated by surrounding shops and loyal customers until they can get back on their feet and back into their regular store. Please support them as they are the only local shop in the Athens area! [8/11/07]
- Sadly the Universe of Superheroes recently burt down, destroying much of the old inventory. Right now they are operating out of a space next to the old store until everything can be refurbished. They are running a campaign to "Save the Universe," consisiting of donations, a special T-shirt sale and volunteer workers. Please visit and help us to SAVE THE UNIVERSE!!! [8/02/07]
- Great store, one of the best I've been to. The store is clean, nicely sized, and has a good selection of comics, toys, statues, posters, and other items. The layout is simple, new comics on the wall as you come in, statues in the display case, in the back half of the store, toys on one wall, shirts and rpg books on the other (as well as a futon), and back issues in the center. There is also an in-store soda machine as well as pinball games. The staff are really cool guys, comics fans themselves that'll order you anything you need. The best part is that all back issues are always 30% off, and if you're a pull customer (they have a form to become on on the website) your pull items are 10% off.
