- I've never been able to get them to negotiate on prices, so I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. Depending on who you deal with, you'll get excellent help or none at all. There's no A/C, so the back issue section gets HOT. There's a bag check in the front of the store, which is mandatory. Insider tip: Only go around holiday weekends when they have half off sales, or you'll be paying too much for back issues! [8/04/08]
- A comicbook store that's open til 1 AM!?!? AWESOME!! Well, 4 nights of the week, at least, and til 11 the other 3. My friend told me I had to visit this store when I visited NY, and I'm glad I listened, this was the collest place I went all weekend. The store is not very neat or orderly, but it is just jam packed full of stuff. The clerk was extremely helpful, he was totaly eager to jump around the store finding stuff for me, and chatting the whole time. Number 1 complaint: not many of their standard back issues have boards. Number 1 compliment: they have a huge selection of silver age books, whilst not on display, in boxes in a nook for the clerks to pull out (which he did every time I asked for anything). Their prices are a little high, but they also seem very willing to bargain (we tallied up my books and I asked if there was anything he coud do for me, and he took off more than I was going to ask him to take off, very nice). Very friendly people, and again, they're open til 1 AM!!!!
