  1. A follow-up to the previous review. The store has a fantastic back issue selection to support its current sales. I spent a lot of time up in New Paltz with a girlfriend, and made it a point to visit the store as often as possible. They had just about every comic published by DC over the last 20 years at relatively reasonable prices. In addition, they have a special sale on Sundays where back issues get even more of a discount. For those searching for back issues from the last 20-30 years, this is certainly a place to shop. They also place the back issues of hot titles in a special section close to the counter. It's just off the New York State Thruway; if you're up that way, be sure to check them out.

  2. I'm a big fan of October Country. The store's staff is exceedingly friendly and very helpful; unlike the vast majority of comic or gaming shops I've visited, I've never been made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in the shop. Their new releases are clearly laid out by company and week, making them easy to locate. They have a sizeable TPB selection: pretty much everything available on the DC and Marvel backlists (including Vertigo and Wildstorm), plus a number of books from other publishers. The RPG selection is also pretty decent for a primarily comics-oriented store. There are fairly sizeable back-issue and bargain bins, as well. All in all, the shop comes highly recommended.
