Store Review:

The week's new releases are laid out flat and side-by-side on several tables towards the back, making it simple to scan titles and covers. They stock all the larger publishers' books and a respectable smattering of small-press material. (My only major gripe w/ the place is that the tables are off-limits on Wednesday until 1 pm while they set up, although I don't know if their stock arrives late, or they just don't take the effort to set up before opening.) Their trade paperback selection is similar in selection, with a nice display of Sandman, Preacher and Strangers in Paradise books. Special orders are welcomed and promptly filled, averaging about a week or two. Back issue stock is a mixed bag; their stock is extensive, but spread through the store, with racks lining the side wall and bins along the back, mostly split by publisher. The layout is frustrating at first and some of the bagged book prices are a little loopy, but the upside is that there's plenty of buried treasure to be found, frequently at cover-price. Of particular note are the coupons on the store flyer, good for 10% off purchases of $1 or more or 20% for over $20 (15% on charge purchases).
