Owner/Employee Info/Comments:
Modern Myths is a full-service comics and game store in Northampton, MA. We specialize in graphic novels, including a great selection of manga and independent titles, as well as rare and out of print books when we can get them. Our full GN inventory is available for purchase through our web site shopping cart. Check out our web site for regular events, including in-store HeroClix, creator appearcances, comic art classes, and more. WE BUY COMICS, and are always looking for inexpensive common, recent back issues in bulk.

Store Review:
PLEASE NOTE: The views expressed here are not those of THE MASTER LIST, but rather, those of people who have visited the store listed above. Please take all opinions expressed here at the value of what they are: opinions.

  1. A real reader's store. It feels like a classy independent book store rather than a stereotypical comic shop. No back issue bins (although there are twice-yearly dollar box sales), but there are some complete sets and lots and lots of trade paperbacks, including a nifty used section featuring bargain prices and some out-of-print books. They are well-stocked with new comics, including a great selection of independents and local talent. The owner is a smart, creative guy who runs events like special screenings for comic-related movies and 24 Hour Comic day. [4/06/08]

  2. A nice, welcoming store, with quite a few weird small press comics and out-of-print tpbs, especially for a store as young as this. The manager used to work at Kevin Eastman's superdeluxe Words and Pictures Museum, and started the store to help fill the void left when Eastman pulled the plug a couple years back. He seems to have all the right ideas and I wish him success.
