We also feature a free in-store comics subscription service, so you never miss a chapter of your favorite stories. Store Review: PLEASE NOTE: The views expressed here are not those of THE MASTER LIST, but rather, those of people who have visited the store listed above. Please take all opinions expressed here at the value of what they are: opinions. It's rare that you find a neighborhood comic shop that rises above the level of mediocrity, but Emerald City manages this. Like many of its contemporaries, it rents a home in a small strip mall alcove, but what sets it apart is the better than average selection of titles and an excellent variety of graphic novels and toys. I found the store to be clean and orderly, and staff friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint was minor: they do not provide bags and backboards with their new comics. In a field where half-hearted upkeep and half-interested owners who appear to be trying to escape from their parent's basements are the apparent norm, Emerald City impressed me by doing something novel: trying to run a competitive business. |
