- By far the best comic book shop I have ever frequented. Every Wednesday afternoon, I'm there to buy my weekly comics and wind up staying longer than expected, every time. The store owner, Bob, always strikes up conversation with me at the register about whatever I'm buying, which in turn makes me anxious to go home and read my books. Also, if for some reason he doesn't carry a comic or is out of stock on a trade paperback or toy, he will gladly special order it for a customer. He's never intrusive, but always helpful. Lotsa Magic cards there as well, old and new, all reasonably priced, and lotsa action figures. Plus, the store is spacious but not sparse, very nicely laid out, and not seedy in the slightest. I cannot recommend this store enough. By far the classiest shop in all of northern California.
- They don't have room to play cards, but they do have a fairly large store, especially compared to the two I visited in Manteca. They had a wide selection of cards for MTG (which I was mainly interested in) as well as quite a few others from the looks of it. Pretty much a whole wall to the gaming side of things. They also had a lot of individual cards for sale. They ranged from $.50 to $5.00 for a lot, but they also had some individual older cards for sale. Two Juzam Djinn were the biggest, with a Raging River, Icy Manipulator (Beta I think), and a few other good ones at a decent price. I also saw Mage Knight and many other action figures/collectibles on display. As far as the comic book side is concerned... It's the second biggest display of comic books I've seen. Granted, I haven't been to a LOT of places, but I figure about a couple hundred square feet of boxes with comics (including aisles) is pretty big. The people there weren't intrusive and pushy when I was looking, but that also meant they weren't sure when I had a question or when I was done. They were very helpful when I asked about playing. They gave me directions to a coffee place that some people played at. I'll have to do that some other time.... ;) Overall I would give this place a pretty high rating, but not quite perfect. They don't have the place to play which really puts a damper on things, but the store is nice and clean and the people are friendly and helpful. This place is definitely a 'Thumbs up! I'll be back! ...and... I've told friends!'
- This store is quite nice, well stocked with TPBs, new comics, back issues and cards of all areas.
