Please take all opinions expressed here at the value of what they are: opinions. Legion Comics has a pretty large inventory of comics, gaming cards, and memorabilia. However, I no longer plan to offer them my patronage. The store is so cluttered that it is almost impossible to shop. The aisles have shrunk to two feet wide, due to very tall stacks of boxes that have expanded into the shopping area. Their statue display case has become totally hidden behind stacks of boxes. The staff is friendly enough, but some of them have problems accurately grading comics. That would not be that big of an issue if the back issues were hand priced. None of them are. They also aren't boarded, and the store charges you extra for boards. When you go check out, the clerks look up a price online or from an Overstreet. On my last trip to Legion, I found two books I wanted. The clerk looked up one of them in the Overstreet and then quoted a price for both comics without looking up the second. The price quoted was for a gem mint copy of the book he looked up, but the copy that I wanted to buy had a tear in the cover. That is when I decided that even though they do have a decent stock, it wasn't worth the trouble for me to try to shop there. [08/13/10] |
